Position Summary: This position will serve as a lead contact and DLSA for pre-award and post-award grant administration for Genetics and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BCMB) between UGA's Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA), funding agencies, faculty and academic researchers. BCMB and Genetics' Grants Coordinator III positions will serve as the interdepartmental grant team. This position will be responsible for promoting and enhancing the application, development, and submission of grant proposals for external funding. In addition, this position will also provide direction for post-award activities, such as monitoring grant awards and expenditures for accuracy and compliance with standards. The department expects that faculty will have access to this position and the counter position in BCMB for pre-award activities based on staff expertise and availability, but that some post-award activities will be more department specific, though in all areas each individual is expected to serve as a backup for support of the other.

Responsibilities: Lead contact for academics and DLSA for pre-award and post-award grant administration for Genetics and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BCMB). Consult with UGA's Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA), funding agencies, faculty and academic researchers to ensure up-to-date knowledge of rules and regulations. Review all proposals to NSF and USDA, and help with review of NIH proposals as needed. Budget development for proposals. Maintain database of standard forms such as postdoctoral scholar training, data deposition plans, individual faculty CVs in correct (NSF, NIH) format, and other forms that are either generic or used repeatedly. Submit grants (as DLSA) as appropriate, otherwise provide liaison with appropriate office/official at UGA.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university required and a minimum of four to five years of direct experience in the area of research administration (proposal submission and non-financial post-award management) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Delegated Limited Submission Authority (DLSA) status typically is expected to be attained at this level within one to two years.
