Schedule Information: Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.  Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.

Hours Per Week: 37.5

Work Conditions: Primarily indoors and sedentary in nature. Requires some local travel.

Duties of Position: 

Responsible for communicating and advancing operational procedures within the division, managing the Division’s HR requirements and serving as project management lead for the Dean. Responsible for planning and development of division budgets. In collaboration with the Dean, monitors divisional budgets, capital and instructional equipment expenditures, and grant apportionment. Utilizes knowledge, skills, and abilities to engage in critical thinking that leads to sound independent decision making to benefit the division. Responsible for direct supervision of office support staff, assigning duties as workload priorities dictate and overseeing assignment completion. Responsible for collaboration with institutional research in the utilization of Dean’s dashboard data to support the division’s retention and completion goals. Responsible for the preparation of Board exhibits as required.

Supervises office and laboratory staff:  Approves vacation days, monitors sick time, meets regularly to discuss operations, proposes operational adjustments when appropriate, and initiates corrective action when needed.

Adheres and attends to Harper operational deadlines, being sure to plan for projects ahead of due dates.

Manages division budget in collaboration with Dean.

Collaborates with the Dean in managing and completing projects assigned to the division that support campus wide initiatives.

Initial approve of purchase requisitions and check requests

Implements HR processes involving employee payroll, and ensures compliance with mandated federal workload guidelines

Oversees the coordination of faculty peer committees and observations by the Dean.

Analyzes past enrollment trends and determines student course needs to develop the preliminary division class schedule in collaboration with faculty.

Assists with make scheduling decisions, and makes recommendations to the Dean regarding schedule and enrollment management.

Implements processes related to hiring of adjuncts, full-time faculty, and division staff

Works independently to resolve issues and respond to inquiries

Coordinates annual program review processes

Coordinates facility remodeling, design, and moving plans.

Ensures effective  internal communication with appropriate faculty and staff and responds to inquiries as needed.

Develops proposals for increased division operational efficiencies

Prepares agendas, and presentations as requested by the Dean

Performs related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:  Bachelor Degree required. 

Experience Requirements:  Two years of progressively responsible project management experience required.  Supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated experience with problem-solving. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities. Must be detail oriented with strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.  Proficient in Microsoft suite.
