Primary Function of Organization Unit: Crop & Soil Sciences is a Department with diverse disciplines that encompass research, extension and teaching related to soil science and theory and the genetic improvement, production and utilization of agronomic and turf-grass crops. Research in basic and applied science and the engagement and technology transfer to public and private sector practitioners.
Essential Job Duties: The Research Tech will assist in research activities and provide support to both field and laboratory activities of the organic grains program and its graduate students. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating research activities, general field maintenance, and data support. *This position is time-limited for 1 year.*
Department Required Skills: * Combination of training and experience required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. * Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * Associates degree and 1 year of related field experience or Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or related discipline. * Experience on a working farm.
Necessary Licenses and Certifications: * A valid drivers license is required for travel. NC drivers license required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained.
