Primary Function of Organization Unit: Created in 1978 to attract funding for the College's teaching, learning, research, and extension in the field of veterinary medicine, the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Foundation, Inc. operates exclusively for educational and scientific purposes. By providing financial assistance that helps promote educational activities and maintain a prominent faculty, the Foundation encourages diverse research and facilitates cooperative activities with other disciplines and institutions.

Essential Job Duties: The Development Associate's position is integral for the foundation and manages giving programs for CVM and performs data analysis for the unit. Duties include: * Management of Annual Giving Programs - (The Brick Program and the Grateful Client Program) * Responsible for all the annual giving programs that include the Walk of Honor, Gallop of Honor, Coat of Excellence and Pet Assistance Funds (communication that goes to these donors to continue their giving and donor record and donor base management to try to sustain these donors and grow the program). * Responsible for managing the wealth-screening list of all the clients in UVIS. Sorts through them to determine which are lower to mid-level annual potential donors or those who have the capacity to give major gifts. Responsible for sorting and passing them along to major gift officers. Responsible for setting up meetings with the major gift officers as well as responsible for all communication that helps to cultivate, solicit and steward client/donors. * Identifying and implementing opportunities for donor recognition, stewardship, and appreciation. * Managing foundation events such as scholarship dinner, kindred companions, and annual board meetings. * Managing relationships with approximately 75 prospective donors and will be expected to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward these very important alumnae and friends of the college. * Assisting with compiling statistics, and preparing and distributing status reports reflecting Institution gift activity, and alerts appropriate OD and Institution staff regarding incorrect or missing data. Reconciles conflicting issues relative to gift data, and refers unresolved issues to the advancement services staff or other staff as appropriate, for resolution. * Compiles and enters into the constituency database complete donor and gift records from historical data, information from research files, and gift reports from the Office of the Treasurer. Assists in the generation of gift reports and financial charts from the constituency data base in accordance with gift registration processes * Reviews and processes gifts, ensuring that required documentation package is complete and accurate, and assigns purpose and solicitation codes, and other required information. * Identifies and implements opportunities for donor recognition, stewardship, and appreciation. * Maintains consistent quality communications with donors in coordination with the Executive Director, other staff, and the Board. * Ensures quality communications follow all gifts to provide thanks and documentation to donors. * Responds to requests for information regarding gifts, generating queries of the constituency system gift information, and prepares gift reports from the system as required. * Proofreads and updates database accounts and adds or corrects data. Assists the advancement services staff with retrieval of gift information from the database, and the validation and audit of data input into the database by other office staff and personnel in other Institution units. * Responsible for soliciting gifts of $100,000 and higher from alumnae and non-alumnae friends.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Bachelor's Degree ADVANCE training UVIS experience 2-3 years managing an annual giving program
