Physical Therapist Assistant Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty
Schedule Information: Per course schedule; maintains a minimum of 15 contact hours of teaching and 10 office hours per week for student consultation; evening and weekend instruction may be required. Serves on college committees; participates in departmental and division initiatives.
Weeks per fiscal year: Faculty are covered under a 9-month contract period (August thru May)

Position Description and Duties: Harper College is building a Physical Therapist Assistant program that will prepare students to provide quality direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist in a variety of health care settings. As a Physical Therapist Assistant Faculty, the successful candidate will provide full-time instruction and clinical supervision for Physical Therapist Assistant students. This includes responsibility for oversight and procurement of clinical sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for a full-time teaching load in the PTA program.
Educational Requirements: Must be a physical therapist assistant who is licensed in any United States jurisdiction as a PTA . Associates in Applied Science degree-Physical Therapist Assistant required. Bachelors degree in a health related discipline required. Master's degree in a health related discipline preferred.
OR a Physical Therapist who is licensed in any United States Jurisdiction as a PT.
Experience Requirements: Three years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice experience required. Two years of clinical practice experience as a CCCE or CI in physical therapy, or a minimum of two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration in a PT or PTA program required. Experience in inpatient, acute care, skilled nursing, or home health preferred.
