Essential Job Duties: The Department of Molecular Biomedical Sciences and the NCSU Veterinary Hospital are currently recruiting a Clinical Veterinarian in anesthesia as follows: The primary responsibility of this clinician will be to assist in the provision of clinical anesthesia services within the Veterinary Hospital, the Equine Hospital and the Health and Wellness Center. The position will require teaching and supervision of veterinary students, technicians, residents and interns in the administration of anesthesia. Patients will be in the Terry Center, Health and Wellness Center and Large Animal Hospital for both routine and emergency cases. The job also requires participation in the CVM curriculum in didactic lectures and with laboratory involving live animals. Sharing of emergency and holiday duty will also be expected. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to participate in collaborative research.
Minimum Education/Experience: DVM (or equivalent degree) and experience with exotic animals; both companion and zoo. Must have completed a residency in veterinary anesthesia and have research experience. Teaching experience preferred.
Department Required Skills: - Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere - Strong commitment to excellence in teaching is expected - Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Necessary Licenses and Certifications: Eligibility for veterinary licensure (or faculty certificate) in the State of North Carolina is required.
