The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases & International Health at the University of Virginia, seeks candidates for a tenure-ineligible Assistant/Associate Professor position to lead the Immunocompromised Infectious Disease (ICID) Program at the University. This integrated ambulatory and in-patient program will be dedicated to the prevention and management of infectious diseases in solid organ and stem cell transplant recipients, patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy, and other immunocompromised individuals.
The incumbent will provide primary consultative services with the solid organ transplant (liver, kidney, pancreas/islet cell, heart, and lung) programs and the inpatient oncology services. A biweekly Transplant Infectious Diseases clinic will also provide care to outpatients, recently hospitalized patients being transitioned to ambulatory care, and patients prior to solid organ transplantation for evaluation and counseling.
The incumbent must have a MD degree, be board-certified and/or board eligible in Internal Medicine and in Infectious Disease at appointment start date. Special training, scholarship, and expertise in the field of transplant and compromised host infectious diseases as well as a record of research productivity and experience in immunocompromised for infectious diseases is required.
