The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Pediatrics with a focus on Infectious Diseases. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Board Certified/Board eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
In this role, the successful candidate will be expected to join our team of clinically-focused faculty who are dedicated to providing clinical infectious consultation to children and education to trainees and other clinicians. Additional responsibilities may include participation in the Antimicrobial Stewardship program, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety initiatives, and collaborative research. Current clinical activities in the Division include 2 inpatient consultation services, one service focused on children with general infectious diseases and another dedicated to the care of immunocompromised hosts. Additionally, we have a busy outpatient clinical practice. In addition to our General ID Clinic, we have dedicated “partner-clinics” to provide collaborative outpatient care to outpatients with other underlying conditions, including malignancies, bone marrow and organ transplantation and cystic fibrosis. Additional activities of the Division include diverse basic science and clinical research programs, CHOP Vaccine Education Center, and CHOP Global Health Center. The division has close ties to the Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness Research and the CHOP Policy Lab offering additional opportunities for collaboration with clinical researchers outside of the ID division. Teaching medical students, residents and fellows is also an essential activity of this position.
