ASU Lake Havasu (https://havasu.asu.edu/) invites applications for a full-time nine-month Lecturer position in psychology. The position has an anticipated start date of August 16, 2018. This is a benefits-eligible, non-tenure eligible position renewable on an academic year basis (August 16 to May 15) contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the university.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach four sections per semester in the Psychology Department (undergraduate level). Assigned courses may include one or more foundational courses along with one or more upper division breadth courses as needed. Upper division courses may include Learning and Motivation, Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, and/or Memory and Cognition. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in service to the university and profession as appropriate.
The requirements for this position include: (1) Ph.D. in Psychology by the time of appointment; (2) and demonstrated familiarity with “best practices” in undergraduate education.
Desired qualifications include: (1) demonstrated experience teaching one or more foundational and breadth courses; (2) demonstrated experience with multiple teaching modalities; (3) demonstrated success meeting the needs of diverse student populations; and (4) evidence of some training or experience in clinical psychology.
