Job Summary: The Manfred Steinfeld School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, housed in the Heller College of Business at Roosevelt University, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management is a leader in developing a diverse population of professionals to serve in a wide array of positions in industry and prepares students for a global economy through innovative programs that emphasize practical application, professional integrity, and social responsibility. The Heller College of Business is an ACBSP accredited teaching-focused school and will be embarking on AACSB accreditation. The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees including: Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management (BSHTM) Master of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management (MSHTM) Executive Master of Hospitality and Tourism Management (EMHTM) (accelerated online delivery) Duties will include teaching in one or more of the following: lodging, food and beverage, meeting and event planning, and tourism operations, with the potential for research courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels at both campuses in Chicago and Schaumburg, and online, as well as research and service activities. The position requires publishing high-quality research in refereed journals, professional and university service, and student advising and mentoring. This position is housed at the Chicago campus and teaching will be required at both the Chicago and Schaumburg campuses and online. The appointment begins August 15, 2018. Minimum Qualifications: Earned PhD in Hospitality Management or related business field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: An earned PhD in Hospitality Management or related business field. Duties will include teaching in one or more of the following: lodging, food and beverage, meeting and event planning, and tourism operations, with the potential for research courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels at both campuses in Chicago and Schaumburg, and online, as well as research and service activities.

Preferred Qualifications: Earned PhD At least one degree at the masters or doctoral level in Hospitality Management. 5 years of hospitality management experience. A candidate with less industry experience may be considered if the applicant can show evidence of extensive teaching and course development in the area of hospitality and/or tourism management.
