Medical Assisting Instructor (Part-Time/Adjunct)
San Jose/Evergreen Community College District

The San Jose/Evergreen Community College District is seeking a part-time/adjunct Medical Assisting Instructor for spring semester 2018 at San Jose City College.

The instructor's assignment will include the following:

1. Teach assigned medical assisting courses including noncredit courses.
2. Develop or select appropriate instructional materials for assigned courses and maintain supplies for each course.
3. Maintain curriculum objectives of the program.
4. Maintain departmental and divisional policies in the classroom.
5. Work with other instructors to coordinate team approach to instruction.
6. Participate in student recruitment and mandatory student orientation.
7. Participate in the department's Advisory Committee and Department activities/meetings/conferences.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment
Associate degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment.

Required Special Licenses/Certificates:

1. Certification in at least one of the following: CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA

2. Current American Heart Association BLS certification for Healthcare Professionals.

Salary placement is based on candidate's verified education and experience.

Assignments may include day and evening responsibilities. This position is represented by the San Jose-Evergreen Community
College District Federation of Teachers, AFT 6157.
