The Risk Services Coordinator will perform a diversified, comprehensive range of responsibilities for the Office of Risk Services which require tact, diplomacy and discretion on a wide variety of areas of a sensitive and confidential nature. He/she will work independently and frequently under deadlines and changing priorities, providing project management and department support including managing multiple complex risk and insurance projects and schedules, developing and maintaining systems for pending action items and ongoing projects, arranging a variety of regular, periodic and high level meetings, research, organizing and coordinating events, drafting and editing correspondence, triaging and reporting claims, and triaging and ensuring compliance with certain university programs and policies. He/she will serve as liaison to other departments and divisions of behalf of the Office of Risk Services.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy- including spelling and grammar and clear, concise communication skills both oral and written are required.
The candidate must be able to communicate professionally and effectively on behalf of the Office of Risk Services and be able to proficiently manage relations with key constituents and communications with Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, Deans, senior staff and their staffs. The candidate must be able to perform difficult technical and administrative work involving the use of independent judgment, initiative and accuracy and be able to exercise discretion and judgment in resolving problems.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent legal or risk services experience required. Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive professional office experience, preferably working with confidential information. Strong and resourceful computer skills are essential, with a proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio.
Must be flexible and able to adapt to various situations, possess exceptional multi-tasking and organizational skills. Must demonstrate initiative, sound judgment and decision making ability and understand the importance of independent work but also value team contributions.
