Responsibilities:

The World Languages Center (https://www.northeastern.edu/cssh/wlc/) in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Northeastern University seeks applications as Teaching Professors/Academic Specialists to teach elementary through advanced Spanish courses in the World Languages Center. Duties include a teaching load of 3 courses per semester, directed studies, and ongoing curricular and pedagogical innovation, as well as service and professional development duties. These are one-year, non-tenure track, renewable positions with full benefits, which will begin on July 1, 2018.

These positions will support the University's commitment to innovation in teaching as well as the World Language Center's vision of cultivating students' translingual and transcultural competence. Candidates should have demonstrated commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education.

Qualifications:

Position Title: Teaching Professor/Academic Specialist in Spanish

Qualifications: A Master’s degree is required, a Ph.D. preferred. The successful applicant should be well trained in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language, have previous college-level experience teaching languages using technology, and possess native or near native proficiency in Spanish. A degree in Spanish applied linguistics, second language acquisition, or pedagogy is highly desirable. Ability to teach Portuguese, French, or another language is desired.
