IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGIST
Duties: The Academic Technologist for Learning Spaces and Services collaborates with other ITS professionals on both the internal and central campus resource (ISC-CTS) teams to express the collective understanding of individual faculty and learner needs in or through holistically designed learning spaces, technology services within or available to these learning spaces, and practices and programs for engaging and supporting faculty and learners. The academic technologist is the classroom technology services design principal for learning space projects and is specifically responsible for user experience and user interface design and commissioning. The academic technologist manages classroom capture, collaboration, and other services and regularly consults with faculty to discover needs, promote solutions, and provide support.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience in successfully providing complex, high-tech audio-visual, video and conferencing classroom support, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Strong project management and operational knowledge with technical expertise in all modern audio-visual, video and conference technologies needed: includes Creston integrated automation solutions, Mersive-like portable collaboration equipment and software, and desktop conferencing solutions, such as Blue Jeans and Skype. The successful candidate will be curious about new technologies, eager to research solutions to solve problems, compassionate and thoughtful when engaging faculty and students, collaborative and collegial with peer providers and partners, able to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, vendors and contractors, and proactive in promoting and sustaining a broad portfolio of learning space projects and services. Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively. Excellent communication skills required, both written and oral. Strong attention to detail required, along with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities. Commitment to excellence in customer service essential. Experience in developing proposals and budgets as well as negotiating pricing strongly preferred. Prior higher education experience desired.
