ONLINE LEARNING & INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN MANAGER
Duties: Manage the daily operations and support for online learning and instructional design. Lead in developing innovative technology use in online teaching for the School, working in collaboration with key stakeholders. Build and maintain strategic, high-level relationships across the School and University to leverage resources and maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies and solutions within online learning. Participate in relevant School and University teams, committees, task forces and special interest groups. Lead online learning initiative across the School.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree in Educational/Instructional Design or Technology strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in related application or functional area or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Strong project management skills and a proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously is required. At least one or more years solid working knowledge of learning management systems (LMS), especially Canvas. Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, HTML/CSS and other basic client-side Web authoring skills, and video production for the web using Camtasia or similar tools. Demonstrated experience designing and adapting content for a variety of e-learning and web-based applications preferred. Prior experience with classroom teaching or with leading technical training essential. Solid understanding of learning science principles, instructional design methodologies, approaches for evaluation and assessment, and current trends in teaching preferred. Graphic design experience for web and/or print media a plus. Excellent presentation, writing and customer service skills. The ability to communicate effectively with and to provide excellent support to faculty is critical to success in this position. The ability to work both independently and as a member of a team is required, as is problem-solving, juggling multiple priorities, and working within set timeframes.
