Job Summary: The University of Georgia, J.M. Tull School of Accounting seeks applications for one or more tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant or associate professor level subject to budgetary funding. Candidates should have an active research agenda that includes audit topics as well as an ability and willingness to teach both graduate and undergraduate audit courses. The position starts in August 2018. Assistant Professor candidates should have a PhD in accounting (degree completed by Aug. 1, 2018) and show promise for research publishable in top-tier and other high-quality research journals and for excellence in teaching. Associate Professor candidates must have a Ph.D. in accounting, a record of excellence in teaching, and an established record of publications, consistent with rank, in top-tier and other high-quality research journals. The University of Georgia ( is the land /sea grant institution for the state of Georgia and is the first state-chartered (1785) university in the U.S. UGA is ranked 21st (US News & WR) and the Terry MBA 19th (Forbes) among public universities. The Tull School ranked 8th in archival tax, 4th in archival financial, and 10th in experimental audit research (2016 BYU 6-yr rankings) and 6th in CPA exam pass-rate among large programs. UGA is located in Athens, GA, which is 90 miles northeast of Atlanta, has been rated the number one place to live in the world by Simple Economist, the 6th best place to live by Outside Magazine, and Rolling Stone named Athens the #1 "college music scene in America". Athens has 15 neighborhoods on the National Register of Historic Places, is an hour each from the southern end of the Appalachian Trail, 58 square-mile Lake Lanier, and 30 square-mile Lake Oconee.
