Assistant Professor of Practice, Accounting
Founded in 1845, Wittenberg is a nationally ranked, private, liberal arts college related to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and has an enrollment of about 1,800 students. The Department of Business is soliciting applications for a Professor of Practice position in Accounting at the assistant professor level. This position has advising responsibilities and standard course loads of four courses per semester. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to teaching, professional activities, and a willingness to be active in service to the department and university.
Minimum credentials include a Master of Accountancy or MBA, and professional certification (CPA, CMA, CFA, or other relevant certification).
We seek an outstanding teacher and program builder to contribute to Wittenberg's established Accounting program. The successful candidate will join a strong team of faculty committed to delivering a transformative undergraduate experience for our students.
Evidence of solid teaching capability is required, with a strong preference for a candidate with a track record of outstanding teaching. The successful candidate will have significant experience in management and public/private accounting, with a preference for public accounting (e.g., 1-3 years of experience) and interaction with the audit function, and a proven ability to bring that experience into the classroom.
Other requirements include an enthusiastic commitment to working with student teams on diverse applied business projects and the ability to expand relationships between the department/university and the broader community. Specifically, we are looking for an individual to build upon our already solid relationships with employers and graduate schools that result in internships and post-graduate opportunities for our students.
