Wittenberg University's Education Department is seeking a new colleague in the areas of early childhood education and emergent literacy. This is a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate literacy and early childhood courses and serve as the coordinator for early childhood (NAEYC) assessment and accreditation initiatives. The department will give special consideration to candidates who can teach special education courses and infuse technology, media literacy, and content related to ELLs into their courses.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach in our graduate program, and to participate in the department's many school and community-based projects and partnerships. He or she will be expected to advise students, work on graduate student thesis committees, and supervise students in field experience courses and student teaching.

For this position, we require that candidates have a completed doctorate or ABD. Candidates must have earned certification or licensure and have a minimum of three years teaching experience at preK-6 grade levels with additional background/experience in special education. We are looking not only for evidence of teaching effectiveness and scholarship, but also for big-picture thinking, a sense of humor, versatility, and an excellent team member.
