Job Duties: Enterprise Information Systems (EIS), part of Information Technology and Computing Services (ITCS), is seeking a skilled Technology Specialist to assist with software development and support of University finance systems - namely, the Ellucian Banner finance module. The EIS team develops, acquires, enhances, and supports administrative computer applications for East Carolina University. Programming specialists and analysts are assigned to various functional/working teams and are charged with developing and supporting functional offices. This position is responsible for high level design, analysis, and programming associated with maintenance, modifications, enhancements, and creation of administrative applications and software interfaces, and uses a variety of development tools to provide update and inquiry access to academic and administrative data residing in a variety of databases. This position should be able to perform work responsibilities with minimum technical supervision. The position responsibilities include the ability to work with large sophisticated applications along with managing application system implementation projects. This position is responsible for meeting with management to define and design applications to meet the automation requirements of the entire University. This position should be able to investigate and become an expert in new technologies with the intent of implementation as well as to provide training to other team members and be a source for the developed standards pertaining to these technologies. In conjunction with training, this position should be able to recommend the best strategies and programming methods to obtain top quality solutions for development of applications within the entire development team, and become a resource for such technologies for the entire Administrative Systems Development and Support team structure.
