Job Duties: East Carolina University seeks individuals to fill a nine-month tenure-track appointment in the Department of Kinesiology within the College of Health and Human Performance effective, August 2018. The department seeks to attract a culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber skilled in the scholarship of research, teaching, leadership, and the application of knowledge. The successful candidate for this position will be eligible for an appointment in the Human Performance Laboratory (HPL:, other institutional laboratories/centers, and add to the department's current research strength in adult and pediatric obesity, diabetes, muscle and metabolic dysfunction, and cardiovascular disease. The successful candidate is expected to: teach in support of the Departmental mission, mentor undergraduate and graduate students (including students in the Ph.D. in Bioenergetics and Exercise Science program); maintain a strong publication record; have, or be developing, an externally funded research program; and contribute professional service consistent with rank and responsibilities. We have particular interest in research focus on examining human health, especially in relation to the positive effects of physical activity/exercise.
