Minimum Education/Experience: -Master's degree in marketing, English/journalism, or a related communications field is preferred -3 to 5 years of marketing, communications, media or public relations experience is desirable -Excellent written and verbal communication skills are preferred -Creative thinking and problem solving skills are desirable -Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems, HTML, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop. Experience managing websites preferred. -Ability to work effectively with multiple individuals and manage several projects at once is desirable

Job Duties: The Public Communications Specialist will develop and implement internal and external communication strategies for ECU Division of Health Sciences constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, community leaders and supporters, potential student and faculty recruitment across the Brody School of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Allied Health Sciences, School of Dental Medicine and Laupus Library. Promotes a positive public image among the various audiences and chooses the best source to disseminate information internally and externally in collaboration with colleagues and leadership from across University Communication.
