Job description

Duties: The Architectural Archives seeks a creative, collaborative individual with strong visual skills for the position of Archivist. Working under the supervision of the Curator, the Archivist assists with appraisal, arrangement, and description of collections as well as reference services. A particular emphasis of this position will be to advise and implement practices related to the management of born digital records. Specifically, the archivist will implement metadata standards as well as policies and procedures for description and access of digital collections as part of an institutional collections management plan.

Position is contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 2 years to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Preferred candidates will hold a Master's Degree in library, information, and/or archival science or an equivalent advanced degree. Knowledge of architecture, landscape architecture, city planning, and/or architectural history is desirable.

Excellent computer skills, including experience with current collections management systems and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong visual skills or experience working with visual collections. Knowledge of research procedures using primary resources. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
