Associate Director Law Career Planning
Provide counseling to law students and alumni regarding all phases of the professional development and career planning process, including practice area and practice setting exploration, interview assistance, resume and cover letter review and guidance on networking. Represent Temple Law School in the Philadelphia legal community, and beyond. Engage in outreach to traditional and non-traditional employers to source summer and post-graduate positions for our students. Assist in the development and implementation of programming and resources for students. Provide management and support to the judicial clerkship application process, both federal and state. With OCS team, work on the collection and documentation of graduate employment outcomes. Collaborate with our partners in Student Affairs and Admissions. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience: J.D. degree and at least two years of experience in the legal field. Experience making presentations to various size groups. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: * Demonstrated ability to exercise empathy and judgment in sensitive counseling situations. * Ability to represent the law school and the Office of Career Services in the community. * Demonstrated oral and written communication skills along with the ability to interact with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and external managers. * Ability to monitor and anticipate job market trends, and to foster relationships and networks with employers interested in our students in the public and private sector. * Demonstrated computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel. * Ability to form strong connections with the faculty and law school administrators in all departments to serve the needs of students. * Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as necessary. Preferred: * Judicial clerkship, involvement in hiring, prior work with students, and/or exposure to JD Advantage positions such as compliance.
