Position Summary: The candidate responsibilities include conducting and publishing academic research in high quality journals, generating external research funding, teaching courses in the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs and engaging in service at a level commensurate with the level of faculty appointment.

Minimum Preferred Qualifications: The Culverhouse College of Commerce at The University of Alabama invites applications for a renewable (non-tenure-track) assistant professor position in applied statistics, with an expected start date of January 1, 2018. Successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses business analytics and applied statistics and conduct research that supports projects funded through the Institute of Business Analytics. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Statistics, or a closely related field. Experience working on externally-funded research projects is strongly preferred, particularly research experience on projects related to health and health care. Research area is open, however, candidates that can work on topics with current faculty are preferred, including topics such as change point inference, classification, and clustering. Experience teaching introductory statistics, particularly in an online environment, is strongly preferred. Coursework in topics such as data mining, data visualization, and related topics is preferred. Experience with SAS, Enterprise Miner, R, JMP, and SQL strongly preferred. Salary is very competitive and commensurate with experience and achievements.
