Duties: Establish direction for and oversee all career services, programs and outreach for undergraduates, master's students and alumni in the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) who seek support in career development and the job search process. Set priorities for the unit and suggest budget implications of those priorities. Counsel students and alumni through in-person and phone appointments. Create ties to administrators, faculty, staff and alumni working with SEAS students, and work closely with them on program planning. Schedule and lead workshops and moderate panels. Reach out to employers to interest them in hiring Penn students and alumni; respond to employer requests. Plan and run career fairs. Develop content for website. Represent the University at employer functions and professional meetings. Manage a great deal of varied, complex data and reports. Responsible for knowing about technical career trends both nationally and globally, and about career fields of interest to engineering students. Manage career newsletters. Supervise counselors and an administrative assistant. Receive administrative direction from and report to the Director of Career Services.

Qualifications: A Master's Degree or more and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Excellent counseling skills with sensitivity to the needs and concerns of a diverse student body. Sophisticated understanding of career paths of engineering students and alumni. Ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators and employers. Demonstrated ability to
supervise professional and support staff. Outstanding writing and presentation skills. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Experience in program planning. Ability to assimilate and retain large volumes of information on employment trends, career fields and individual employers. Ability to understand and manage complex data sets and prepare reports for different groups, often with short turnaround time. Database, social media and website management skills strongly preferred. Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work under pressure. Diplomatic and collaborative. Good judgment and sense of humor.
