Primary Function of Organization Unit: The NC State Veterinary Hospital provides tertiary care for a wide variety of animal species and serves as an environment for training veterinary students, specialty training for interns and residents, and conducts clinical research. The Client Services Specialists are the first point of contact for Hospital clients and referring veterinarians and are critical in coordinating the patient's experience at the Hospital.

Essential Job Duties: The Client Services Specialist ensures excellent customer service to current and potential clients as well as referring veterinarians at the Terry Center Small Animal Hospital. Checks in clients, answer phone calls, make appointments and processes deposits and payments. Works closely with internal and external clients as well as referring veterinarians to answer any questions or concerns. Takes detailed consult and referral information from referring veterinarians. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple incoming phone lines is crucial to this position. This position will be trained at all service desks and will fill in gaps in scheduling. Scheduled hours will not be the same week to week, but will be given in advance by Supervisor and may be negotiable. **This is a 20 hour a week position.**

Minimum Education/Experience:

Department Required Skills: Knowledge of MS Office products, email, fax and copy machines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task and must be detail-oriented. Strong organizational skills.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Previous client service experience in a veterinary or medical setting ~ Experience with UVIS preferred ~
