Job description

The Division of Renal-Electrolyte and Hypertension in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician-educator track or the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, research, and clinical care. Board Certification in Nephrology is required.

Individuals seeking a position in the clinician-educator track should be excellent clinicians and educators and will be expected to build a clinical or translational research program focused in an area related to hypertension. Individuals seeking a position in the tenure track will be expected to develop and/or maintain an independently funded research effort focused in science related to hypertension; these individuals will be expected to devote at least 80% of their total effort to research. 

The successful candidate will benefit from a world-class collaborative research environment, protected time, and an attractive package to support their research program. Penn has an ASH certified Level One Center for Hypertension. Expertise in treatment of patients with complex hypertension and certification by the American Society of Hypertension are preferred.
