Andrew Tsourkas (Director) and Jeffrey Winkler (Associate Director). The Assistant Technical Director will be responsible for working with faculty (or other customers) on the planning of new chemical, polymer, and nanoparticle synthesis projects and the management of any projects initiated through the core in which they are assigned. Projects can involve the replication or refinement of published synthetic compounds, polymers, or nanoparticles or the design and development of new synthetic compounds, polymers, or nanoparticles. Moreover, the Assistant Technical Director will need to implement and carry out chemical, polymer and nanoparticle synthesis projects, analyze and characterize all synthesized compounds, and provide customers with pure compounds, with characterization data, in a reasonable time frame.
