Responsibilities:

The N.U.in Program is a unique opportunity for students accepted for Spring Admission to Northeastern University to study abroad for the Fall Semester. Partner universities or institutions abroad provide academic courses to the students while NU staff provide on-site leadership and support services.

In partnership with NU Global, Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, the person in this position will manage all facets of the recruitment, hiring, onboarding and training for the N.U.in Site Staff as well as the continuing development of the Global Experience and Service Course.
This demanding leadership position requires a significant amount of organization, patience, flexibility, assertiveness, diplomacy, self-initiative, and a strong working understanding of the needs for an international education program.

The Assistant Director of Recruiting, Hiring and Training has an integral role within The N.U.in Program and Northeastern University. This role manages all aspects of the recruitment lifecycle and hiring of all part-time international on-site staff members for the fall semester, temp-non-student office assistants, and as needed program full time positions. This position requires a unique and flexible individual who can adjust recruiting and hiring efforts based on the fluctuation between enrollment projections and the final enrollment of the program. In addition, this individual will manage the onboarding and training of all site staff before they depart for his/her assigned N.U.in destination.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred in relevant field such as Higher Education, International Education, Human Resources, or Student Development

Minimum of 6 continuous months experience of living, working, or studying abroad, preferably in a Residence Life capacity

Working knowledge of international VISA recruitments with proven ability to partner with Office of General Counsel and other key partners to support staff and students residing in various countries for several months.

Minimum 3 years demonstrated in all aspects of staffing including: recruiting, hiring and delivery of workplace learning and development training

Basic knowledge of general HR procedures and policies, specifically as it pertains to recruiting and hiring strongly preferred.

High level knowledge of student life, specifically through experience of living with or working with students (in a counselor, residence life, student affairs, or related role) preferably in an international capacity

Advanced contemporary knowledge and understanding

Proven ability to coordinate and manage events for large groups with meticulous attention to detail

Flexibility and problem solving skills a must

A positive and professional personality

Social media skills a plus

Proven ability to work well under stressful conditions and how to take actions that satisfy diverse interests while achieving programmatic goals

Must be willing to work long hours as necessary as well as potential weekend and evening hours.
