Responsibilities:

This position will work with the Experiential Network (XN) and Learner Experience and Design Research (LEADR) teams. The Partnership Development and Research Associate supports the collaboration between employers and community college and Northeastern University faculty to implement authentic experiential learning projects in post-secondary courses; implements and evaluates pilot initiatives; performs iterative research and development; and provides research support to the College of Professional Studies (CPS) and the Professional Advancement Network (PAN), with the goal of continuous improvement of the student experience.

Qualifications:

• Dedication to the mission of the Lowell Institute School of serving underrepresented students;
• Five - Eight years of experience and Masters’ degree preferred in educational research, learning sciences, human factors, or similar education or social sciences field required
• Experience working with diverse constituents (i.e. various employers, disciplines, students, faculty and administration).
• Ability to work effectively with people of varying cultures and diversity.
• Experience teaching, advising in career development or experiential learning a plus.
• Excellent skills in relationship building, public relations required
• Knowledge and experience from a background in learning sciences, cognitive psychology, ethnography, anthropology, design thinking or related fields;
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative user research, including experiment design, sample selection and recruiting, surveys, focus groups, , ethnographic field research,;
• Experience with design-based research (DBR) and/or design-based implementation research (DBIR) methodologies preferred;
• Familiarity with human subjects and Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes a plus
• Ability to move beyond research as outcome, to research as input to the iterative design of real-world solutions;
• Knowledge in tools used for qualitative analysis (e.g. NVivo), statistical analysis (SPSS, R), online data collection (Qualtrics) and data visualization (Tableau) a plus;
• Strong project management skills
• Able to work collaboratively or independently as needed;
• Excellent writing and communication skills;
• Knowledge and experience with curriculum and/or software development (systems analysis, project management) preferred;
