Job Description Summary

Oversees and manages the development, administration, periodic review, planning, organization and general effectiveness of the Online AA Program.



Job Responsibilities

Work collaboratively to establish the vision and goals for Online AA college-wide

Oversees and manages the Online AA Program

Supports the development of strategic offerings/initiatives, related policies and procedures, program promotion/ recruitment strategies

Provides academic program leadership and direction in the development and deployment of Online Associate Arts Degree

Work collaboratively with AL&S, Enrollment Management, Tutoring Services, Learning Commons, & Online Learning and Academic Technology (OLAT) to provide services in support of online education

Responsible for accreditation activities

Provides leadership by assuring accreditation standards are met

Prepares and administers academic online program budget

Oversees instructional process including student evaluations and schedules

Counsels and advises students

Coordinates development of curriculum and revisions

Prepares course schedules and makes instructional assignments

Performs instruction and evaluation of program courses

Markets program and recruits students

Coordinates Advisory Committee and all program admission activities

Plans, implements and manages the academic online course development process and quality course design reviews.

Oversees online faculty mentoring and academic support initiatives

Provides input for outcomes assessment and program objectives

Develops and maintains effective communication with prospective applicants, students, graduates, faculty, program alumni and community

Develops and implements individual plans that address accessibility in online instruction. This includes problem- solving to address accommodation requests from students or faculty and adaptation of course materials

Ensures compliance with accessibility regulations

Develops and implements plans that address accessibility in online instruction including compliance with federal regulations, support and training for faculty in designing accessible course materials, problem- solving to address accommodation requests from students or faculty and adaptation of course materials

Performs other duties as assigned



Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
Bachelor's degree
o Significant related experience may substitute for education

Minimum of five years of demonstrated program management experience in higher education and/or distance learning programs

Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department

Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing, and monitoring a business area's budget

Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

Must successfully complete a Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI) Background Check to include fingerprinting, social security number trace, county record search, state search, and a check of Federal Bureau of Investigation records

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Possess comprehensive knowledge of Online Learning Programs, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Blackboard LMS, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and MS Project

Demonstrated awareness and expertise in the latest pedagogical and technological practices in online and digital learning

Quality Matters Peer Reviewer certification or similar certification

Ability to independently set goals and determine best course of action to achieve desired results

Demonstrated advanced project management skills

Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Possess strong organizational, time-management skills, and is results-oriented
