Department Summary: ABOUT BSU: Founded in 1840, Bridgewater State University is the 10th largest college or university, public or private, in Massachusetts. The past two decades has seen a transformation of the campus and strong growth in the student population. As of Fall 2017, BSU's student body included 11,024 students, including 9,558 undergraduates, of whom 96 percent hail from Massachusetts. Position Summary: As the chief student affairs and enrollment officer, the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (VPSAEM) will report directly to the President as a member of his Cabinet. The VPSAEM will provide strategic leadership and policy development, long-range and annual planning, and implement and evaluate programs and activities designed to meet strategic student affairs and enrollment goals. The VPSAEM will lead an experienced staff to continue to support a strategic plan consistent with academic excellence, experiential learning and social justice in an effort to inspire students to build meaningful lives. A strong relationship between the VPSAEM and the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is essential in achieving institutional enrollment goals and promoting student life programs that support the academic goals of the institution.

Essential Duties: Provide strategic leadership, coordination, oversight and planning of the division's staff in the development of comprehensive policies, programs and procedures for all student affairs functions including enrollment management, health and counseling services, student conduct, athletics and recreation, residence life and housing, and student activities. The scope of the position will provide leadership and oversight in the following areas: * Planning and Operations Management: Strategic Planning, Fiscal and Budget, Workforce Planning, and Major Programs such as Enrollment Task Force; Facilities improvements * Enrollment and Retention: Admissions, Financial Aid, Community College initiatives, Transfer issues, Parents, Retention collaboration * Communications: Cabinet, Division, Board of Trustees, Community leaders, State officials, National groups, Media * Student Engagement and Programs: Office of Student Involvement and Leadership (OSIL), student involvement, Orientation, campus culture, current issues in higher education) * Theory: Student Development, Student Success, Counseling, Social Justice * Policy: Federal, State and Local laws and regulations including Title IX, Access and Affordability, Admissions, Student Conduct * Development: Enhance fundraising efforts- athletics, student life * Crisis Management: First responder, Communications To learn more about this opportunity please choose the link:

Required Qualifications: * A master's degree in higher education, student affairs or related field required. * Demonstrated effective leadership, 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a broad student life or enrollment management capacity. * Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning, best practices and understanding of current national trends in college student success models. * Demonstrated knowledge of theories and policies involving student affairs and enrollment management. Including Enrollment, Financial Aid, Student Involvement, Residence Life, Student Conduct, Athletics, Health and Counseling, Title XI. * Knowledge of laws and regulations as well as related federal and state laws. * A demonstrated record of supporting student success * Excellent communication skills * A proven track record of entrepreneurship and innovation in higher education * The ability to establish and maintain a positive image for the University, and create and sustain positive working relationships with internal and external constituencies * Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse higher education community * Demonstrate a personal and professional belief in the importance of high quality, accessible public higher education * Evidence of commitment to BSU values

Preferred Qualifications: * Earned Ph.D., Ed.D or ABD * Record of creative and entrepreneurial revenue generation * A high level of energy and a record of achievement and advancement in the field * Experience in managing human resources, knowledge of current issues and trends in higher education, international education * A record of participation in national professional associations and support for others to do so. * Have a clear commitment to excellence and innovation, and an appreciation for the role of technology in achieving those standards * A sense of humor, respect for others, and ability to be a team player, as well as developing effective teams
