Transfer Credit Specialist

Primary Function of Organization Unit: The primary function of the Department of Registration and Records is to support the mission of NC State University by providing effective academic services to students, faculty, staff and alumni while maintaining security and confidentiality of data.
Essential Job Duties: The primary purpose of this position is to process transfer credit for incoming and continuing students. This position also assists with the processing of transfer credit for new international students as well as for study abroad credits. In addition, the position will work with the transcript processing system and assist with the development of new administrative processes associated with updated technology. Transfer student success is an important part of the University's strategic plan.
Department Required Skills: - Ability to exercise judgment and work independently. - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively as a team member. - Strong organization and time management skills to ensure meeting scheduled deadlines. - Technology proficiency - must be knowledgeable in the use of computerized management information systems (databases). - Demonstrated ability to make accurate and consistent interpretations of a broad variety of academic and/or administrative policies and procedures - Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, particularly in matters relative to sensitive or confidential student records, personnel or organizational matters
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: -Bachelor's degree -Experience in a University work setting -Experience in a paperless records management system a plus
