Position Summary: The UNC Division of Infectious Disease, Department of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a fixed term open rank faculty appointment. Primary responsibilities for this position will be inpatient infectious diseases consultation on teaching and non-teaching services with outpatient clinical responsibilities including general infectious diseases consultation, post-hospitalization and OPAT care. Additional opportunities for teaching and participation in clinical research are possible. This faculty position is based at UNC Medical Center, a top ranking academic facility located in Chapel Hill, NC and consisting of the NC Cancer Hospital, NC Children's Hospital, NC Memorial Hospital, NC Neurosciences Hospital and NC Women's Hospital in Chapel Hill and UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus. UNC Hospitals is an 803-bed public, academic medical center operated by and for the people of North Carolina. The UNC Division of Infectious Diseases has a faculty of more than 50 clinicians and researchers working to prevent and treat infectious diseases as well as an accredited Infectious Diseases fellowship program.

Education Requirements: Candidates must hold a DO or MD and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Diseases. Applicants completing ID fellowship training by July 2018 will be considered provided other qualifications are met.

Qualification and Experience: The ideal candidate will be at least an early to mid-career level faculty member with experience and a passion for inpatient clinical care, teaching, and clinical scholarship. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Experience and interest in in-patient Infectious Diseases consultation and outpatient Infectious Diseases care are required. Excellent teaching skills in both didactic and interactive teaching styles are highly desirable.
