Bioengineer / Biomaterial Tenure Faculty Position

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Otorhinolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant, Associate, and/or Full Professor position in the tenure track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of bioengineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or related fields with a focus on basic and translational science investigations involving tissue-engineering and biomaterials. Responsibilities include leading a funded, start-up bioengineering and biomaterials laboratory with translational applications to pediatric laryngotracheal reconstruction and laryngology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and with the CHOP Center for Pediatric Airway Disorders. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and research.

The initiative is sponsored by a programmatic grant entitled the CHOP Frontier Program. The generous start-up package includes laboratory space and state-of-the-art research equipment with access to numerous core lab facilities at CHOP and Penn.

The successful applicant will have a primary appointment in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine with a secondary appointment in the Department of Bioengineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania.
