Primary Function of Organization Unit: NC State Dining is a department within the Campus Enterprises Division. NC State Dining provides campus wide food service to students, staff, and faculty and the corporate partners on centennial campus. NC State Dining operates 14 dining areas, 7 convenience stores, campus concessions, a nutritional counseling service, and catering department. Campus Enterprises is NC State's lead division of retail and hospitality organizations ; NC State Dining, NC State Stores, Trademark Licensing, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, NC State Student Centers (Witherspoon and Talley), and the Wolfpack One Card Services. Each unit shares a common goal: deliver quality and efficient services with dedicated financial support for student activity and scholarships.

Essential Job Duties: This position is responsible for oversight and daily management of Talley Student Union food service locations on the NC State University campus. The areas consist of Tuffy's Diner, Los Lobos Mexican Grill, Red Sky Pizza and Jason's Deli, One Earth and 1887 Bistro. Management will be achieved by a team of food service supervisors reporting directly to this position. The person in this position must be committed philosophically and operationally, to delivering high quality services in an efficient manner, while being sensitive to the service needs of NC State University. This position is responsible for the design and execution of strategies for the food service unit. This position must be an entrepreneurial manager and change agent who is dedicated to supporting the ongoing development of NC State University's Dining department and its culinary services.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Department Required Skills: Demonstrated experience successfully managing a food service operation. Supervisory experience, and knowledge of positive coaching techniques. Maintain a sanitation rating of 95 or above. Proficiency with MS Office suite and ability to learn new software, specifically food service purchasing system. Flexibility in work schedule to include evenings, nights and weekends. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally with or without reasonable accommodation. Stand for long periods of time. Requires bending, twisting, pulling and pushing. Because of the nature of a food service operations and working in in a kitchen you must be able to work in extremely hot and cold conditions.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Nutrition or related discipline and 5 years of food service management; or Associate's degree in a related discipline and 7 years of food management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Some positions may require registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Culinary experience. NC Driver's license preferred.

Necessary Licenses and Certifications: Serve Safe sanitation certificate or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
