Primary Function of Organization Unit: At the undergraduate level, the Department of Economics offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Economics. The department also offers a Master's of Economics degree as well as a Ph.D. in Economics. Fields of concentration include Econometrics, Microeconomics/IO, Environmental Economics, Macroeconomics, Labor Economics, and International Economics. The Poole College of Management at NC State University actively engages with industry and academia to create an innovative and collaborative intellectual environment that fosters learning, scholarship, and service. We focus on developing and supporting leaders with an entrepreneurial mindset and analytical problem-solving capabilities to positively impact our data-rich, dynamic, global economy.
Essential Job Duties: The Department of Economics is accepting applications for the position of Non-Tenure Track Faculty (part-time). Non-Tenure Track Faculty positions are one-semester or one-year, with the possibility of renewal. Applications will remain on file for one year should openings arise in subsequent semesters. Successful candidates will teach 1-3 courses on the undergraduate or graduate curriculum, depending on the department's needs. Teaching is in one of the following areas: Microeconomics, macroeconomics, labor economics, and/or law and economics. Teaching locations include our main campus in Raleigh. Specific hiring needs for the upcoming academic year have yet to be determined.
Minimum Education/Experience: Requires doctoral degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent experience in the appropriate field of interest.
Department Required Skills: Excellent teaching ability. A commitment to the success of students and programs at the University.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: College teaching experience.
