Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Department of Accounting in the Poole College of Management is home to faculty specializing in the areas of audit, taxation, managerial accounting, financial accounting, and information systems. Faculty works closely with our centers and initiatives including the Enterprise Risk Management initiative. The Poole College of Management at NC State University actively engages with industry and academia to create an innovative and collaborative intellectual environment that fosters learning, scholarship, and service. Essential Job Duties: The Department of Accounting is accepting applications for the position of Non-Tenure Track Faculty Lecturer (part-time). Non-Tenure Track Faculty positions are one-semester or one-year, with the possibility of renewal. Applications will remain on file for one year should openings arise in subsequent semesters. Successful candidates will teach 1 to 3 courses for the BSA (Bachelor of Science in Accounting), MAC (Masters of Accounting) and/or MBA (Masters of Business Administration). Teaching is in one of the following areas: accounting information systems, auditing, business/data analytics, business law, financial accounting, intermediate accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, and not for profit/government accounting. Teaching locations include our main campus in Raleigh, the Research Triangle Park (RTP) MBA campus, and the potential for summer school and study abroad courses. Specific hiring needs for the upcoming academic year have yet to be determined.
Minimum Education/Experience: Requires master's degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent work experience. If an applicant does not have a master's degree, must have professional certification related to the field.
Department Required Skills: Excellent teaching ability. A commitment to the success of students and programs at the University.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Applicants should have a master's degree plus professional certification with a minimum of five years of work experience or teaching experience and experience teaching at the college level.
Necessary Licenses and Certifications: If an applicant does not have a master's degree, must have professional certification related to the field.
