Assistant Professor of Political Science (American Politics) Tenure-Track
Job Description: Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Political Science invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning fall 2018. The department seeks applicants in American politics with expertise in political institutions and the policymaking process, including environmental policy. The successful applicant will be joining a department with more than 20 faculty members and more than 500 majors and minors. Duties and Responsibilities: The position involves teaching undergraduate courses as well as graduate courses in our M.A. and Ph.D. programs. The applicant will be expected to teach upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of political institutions and the policymaking process, including environmental policy, as well as an introductory American politics class.
Qualifications: The successful applicant is expected to have a Ph.D. in Political Science at the time of the appointment. Applicants for the position must clearly demonstrate the potential for excellence in research and teaching and have a record of (or clear potential for) distinguished scholarship, grant-funded research, and student mentorship. Applicants should be willing to support the mission of Loyola University Chicago and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic education.
