Duties: The individual in this position will manage several large, multi-site, federally-funded studies investigating interventions designed to prevent healthcare-associated infections and to decrease infections due to antibiotic resistant bacteria. Study patients can be hospital inpatients or outpatients. The primary responsibilities are:

1) Oversee, train and manage research coordinators and research assistants who handle collection of study samples (human or environmental); secure informed consent from human subjects; obtain primary data collection from medical records and/or patient interviews; keep detailed records of patients included/excluded from studies; oversee the work of a data analysis and/or laboratory technician(s) as specified by a given study. This position will ensure meeting all enrollment quotas, deadlines, and data collection; will manage staff and allocate their effort across studies as necessary.

2)Handle all regulatory aspects of the studies including all IRB submissions and amendments; ensure all required research trainings has been completed.

3) Lead regular study group meetings, work with and report to investigators. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the project manager will serve as the primary overseer of the day-to-day operations of a study and develop collaborative relationships with healthcare workers as necessary for given studies.

Qualifications: A Masters Degree in clinical research or public health with 3-5 years prior clinical research experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Previous clinical research experience using hospital databases (e.g., EPIC, Sunrise, Medview) is a plus. Having familiarity with medical terminology is highly desirable. Experience with RedCap is a plus.
The individual must be able to work independently, demonstrate great attention to detail, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, maintain orderly records, be highly organized and seek guidance as necessary. Flexibility to work occasional early evenings/weekends is required. Position contingent upon funding.
