Job description

Duties: Plan/perform research and administrative tasks in an evolving, medium-sized research group that concentrates in tobacco addiction research, including Phase II medication trials, behavioral treatment studies, and broader cancer control research. Specific activities include: (1) Manage and coordinate recruitment efforts across several protocols; conduct telephone eligibility screenings; complete in-person study visits; consent participants; oversee study sessions. Manage the overall study calendar; (2) Develop/maintain training materials; Train personnel on center-wide and study-specific SOPs (e.g. data entry/QC, phone screening, data collection, computerized behavioral tasks) across several projects; (3) Assist PI with regulatory materials and IRB submissions; (4) Manage study product accountability, including medication; maintain inventory records of study related materials and equipment for multiple protocols; (5) Administer and score computerized neurocognitive assessments; and (6) Attend weekly lab and staff meetings; report directly to PI. The successful candidate may also provide individual behavioral smoking cessation counseling using a manualized treatment.

Position is contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 1 year to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. The successful candidate will have experience collecting research data, interacting with research participants and working well as part of a team. The successful candidate should also possess skills in time management, attention to detail, problem solving, clear communication and work well in a fast-paced team environment. Some evening and weekend hours required. Other qualifications include: data entry experience; good organization, communication and critical thinking skills; and demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in short turnaround time.
