Job description

Duties: Coordinate the day-to-day management of randomized studies of alcohol and drug treatment. Supervise research staff and train new employees as needed. Meet regularly with the Principal Investigator to identify problems and develop solutions. Implement changes to procedures as needed and monitor results. Determine eligibility of potential participants. Conduct research interviews at baseline and follow-up. Maintain tracking databases and produce reports on follow-up rates. Manage study petty cash and money for subject payments. Submission of continuing reviews, updates/amendments to the University of Pennsylvania and City of Philadelphia Institutional Review Boards.

Position is contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications: BA/BS with at least 1-3 years experience in alcohol and drug addictions research, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Degree in Social Sciences or Health Communication preferable. Familiarity with study assessments preferable. A strong theoretical and working knowledge of social media and its platforms, including hands-on familiarity with Facebook and Twitter required. General experience with cellphone and web-based applications. Management skills and attention to detail in data collection and management required. Must be available for some evenings and weekends.
