Job description

Duties: The Coordinator of Fitness and Wellness is responsible for assisting in the administration of a comprehensive fitness and wellness program for the University of Pennsylvania. Responsible for the daily management of the fitness and wellness operations with emphasis placed on the management of all fitness class schedules, fitness and wellness staff, and personal training clients. Ensures consistent enforcement and execution of facility policies and procedures and proper risk management practices. This position will also assist overseeing a robust personal training and wellness program as well as fitness based member incentive and retention programs.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Sports Administration, Recreation, Exercise Science, Athletic/Recreation Administration, Physical Education, Business Administration and/or related field, Master's degree preferred and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and progressive professional experience in collegiate recreation required. Experience in establishing and facilitating strategic goals, developing and implementing policies and procedures. Demonstrated experience in budget development, fiscal integrity and transparency. Ability to teach and develop a strong emphasis on student development philosophy and a commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and creating an environment of inclusion. Excellent written communication skills; ability to write concise, logical reports. Proficient in computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite and other software. Accredited (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, etc) Fitness certification required.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required.
