RESEARCH SPECIALIST A
Duties: In a cell and molecular biology laboratory investigating eye diseases of animals and/or humans, independently design and carry out experimental set-up. Establish new molecular techniques as needed. Analyze and summarize data for publication and grant proposals. Maintain supplies and equipment.
Primary tasks will include all standard molecular and cellular biological techniques, including PCR, real-time PCR, genetic cloning, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, culture of cell lines.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree and 2+ years of experience preferred.
Solid knowledge of molecular and cell biology is fundamental. Some experience in cell culture techniques would be preferred. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and desire to obtain quality results and good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
