Position Summary: The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy and the Department of Allied Health Sciences in School of Medicine, invites applications for a full-time, 12-month tenured/tenure-track faculty member. The appointment includes Associate Chair for Research (approximately 30% FTE) for the Department of Allied Health Sciences and Associate Professor/Professor (approximately 70% FTE) for the Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. The Associate Chair for Research coordinates the planning, development and implementation of research advancement for the Department of Allied Health Sciences. The Associate Chair supports faculty in identifying funding mechanisms and maintaining and expanding research programs, works with the University's Office of Sponsored Research and other key university units, supervises Office of Research staff, and serves as part of the departmental leadership team. As a faculty member in the Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, primary responsibilities include conducting research, mentoring PhD students, and teaching in the PhD and MS-OT programs. Maintaining an actively funded research program is expected.

Qualification and Experience: Candidates should: 1) possess qualifications for appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor; 2) history of a career in academic research and teaching; 3) record of obtaining external research funding; 4) leadership and management experience; 5) experience with interdisciplinary and translational research; 6) ability to mentor PhD students; and 7) ability to contribute to the Division's mission of promoting occupational science and occupation-centered practice.
