ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, ART HISTORY
The Nebraska Wesleyan University Art Department invites applications for a full-time, tenure –track, Assistant Professor in the History of Art. The successful candidate will work in a small, but thriving studio art department within a liberal arts university. The successful candidate will be an art history generalist. The candidate should be able to teach modern and contemporary art and craft history, while having the background necessary to teach survey and epoch-specific courses.
The candidate will be expected to work along with the studio art faculty to develop curriculum and advise studio art students. On rotation, the candidate will have the opportunity to direct the University’s Elder Gallery.
NWU faculty are expected to participate and teach in our innovative Archway curriculum and provide service to the organization. Other responsibilities include: teaching the senior art capstone; advising the student art organization, and organizing the visiting artist series. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes Nebraska Wesleyan faculty benefits package.
· Ph. D. in Art History
· Evidence of 1-3 years of college teaching experience
· Commitment to the use of engaging, innovative teaching styles
