Research Assistant (Clinical Sciences)
General Description of Position: The Department of Clinical Sciences with the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applications for a Research Assistant. This position is responsible for sample collection and preparation of samples for bacterial isolation and identification as well as the preparation of media, reagents, and chemicals for bacterial assays. -Sample collection and preparation of samples for bacterial isolation and identification. Preparation of media, reagents, and chemicals for bacterial assays.
-Helping with the antimicrobial susceptibility testing of bacterial isolates. Ideal candidate will work independently and as part of a team.
-Isolation of bacterial genomic DNA and preparation of DNA samples for further analyses.
-General laboratory maintenance tasks (Bacterial strains, freezer logs, and laboratory records)Required Minimum Qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Biology, Microbiology Preferred Qualifications:
-DVM degree or its equivalent
