Job Description

Industrial and Commercial Construction Project Manager

Construction Project Manager is a strategic planner who can manage and supervise multiple projects from the start to finish. The Construction Project Manager would assist our clients from concept development through the final acceptance. This role includes preparing estimates supporting the original proposals, creating and maintaining schedules of the day-to-day operations of projects with the assistance of site supervisors, while paying special attention to time and budgetary constraints. The Construction Project manager will have an understanding of the construction business and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment are important for career success. Additional expected duties of the Construction Project Manager would include the negotiating contracts, responsibility to obtain all permits for a building site, and communicating to company leadership.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Prepare and support project cost models, initial schedules and quotes for new and existing clients

• Manage job sites for both new and repurposed construction sites for industrial and Commercial applications

• Create schedules for construction crew and ensure all projects are fully staffed for self-performing projects as well as subcontracted

• Oversee subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality standards are met

• Monitors and enforces safe and compliant working environment in accordance to OSHA, NC OSH regulations, and all applicable laws and site specific requirements as well as internal safety policies.

• Continuous improvement to ensure delivery schedules, quantity and quality criteria are met while using best practices to improve/increase efficiencies.

• Generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures and purchases.

• Oversees and coordinates team activities to ensure a safe, reliable, efficient and effective operation.

• Participate in the recruiting, hiring, and training of new employees.

• Coaches, counsels, mentor's employees as well as enforces company policies and procedures that includes issuing disciplinary action as required.

• Develops and maintains employee scheduling with the construction site superintendent

• Monitors staffing, overtime use and financial performance of assigned projects.

• Promotes team building initiatives and performs coaching/mentoring activities to develop and motivate team members.

• Ensures information is communicated in a clear, comprehensive manner.

• Generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures and purchases.

• Provide prompt response to requests and issues from management team

• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum requirement is an Associate degree or equivalent work experience directly related to the responsibilities and requirements of this position. At least five (5) years' experience and in a supervisory capacity working for a construction company, commercial / Industrial general contractor or firm engaged in engineering/inspection type work. Ability to manage multiple projects at once with no decline in quality control. Computer skills with an intermediate level comprehension in: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, AutoCAD, Web browser software, and Smart device applications

Education and Experience

• Strong working knowledge of principles and practices of industrial and commercial construction

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Working knowledge of contractor and sub-contractors' contracts

• Working knowledge of procurement and contracts

• Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations

• Supervisory/Management experience

• Solid computer and systems knowledge

• Bilingual a plus
