Job Description

Electrical contractor seeks a multifaceted individual with a construction background, preferably in commercial electrical construction, who has knowledge of estimating, purchasing and job coordination. A college degree is preferred as well as 1-3 years of applicable experience.

Procure and review all contract documents including plans, specifications, and schedule

Be familiar with plan takeoffs

Be able to prepare computerized original budgets and/or hard estimates

Review project schedules and continually update Management, Foreman and Field Superintendent

Order and transmit to appropriate field personnel all information including drawings or sketches, budget information, added material and scopes of work

Insure that all files are kept in accordance with company policies

Insure that all necessary paperwork and plans are received by field and office personnel

Procure and monitor use of equipment on job sites and assure timely delivery and call off

Complete all major purchase orders and some minor purchase orders under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and in conjunction with the purchasing agent

Completely preview all submittals and shop drawings to insure that materials meet specifications and project requirements and obtain approval of Project Manager. Transmit submittals to client and track status

Release material for manufacturing in writing after obtaining approved submittals. Obtain anticipated ship dates for all major purchase order items in writing from the vendors. Obtain "PRO" or shipping numbers in writing from vendors. Keep current information for all shipping dates, quantities, and any other information to minimize or eliminate production delays

Track all major purchase order items until delivered to job site

Handle and deliver material when necessary

Assist in any take-off and pricing and input of change orders in a timely manner

Review all pricing issues with Project Manager before submission to client

Track material until delivered to job site

Maintain record sets of contract drawings and specifications

Maintain drawing logs and update as required

Coordinate material deliveries

Assist in analysis of all change orders for scheduling impacts prior to completion of pricing
