POSITION SUMMARY:

The Division of Behavioral Sciences at Indiana Wesleyan University invites applications for an Addictions Counseling faculty position. The Division of Behavioral Sciences is home to five majors including addictions counseling and psychology, along with social work, criminal justice, pre-art therapy, and a minor in sociology. We have 16 active full-time faculty and approximately 300 student majors.  The division's facilities include observation rooms with video recording, a research suite and an EEG lab. Our division has a history of collaborative research, including several research projects using mobile technology to deliver real-time assessment and intervention.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completed doctoral degree, preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will teach several courses in Addictions, provide practicum supervision, engage in research with student research assistants, and possibly teach some other courses in Psychology based on their interest/background and residential departmental needs (e.g., Cognition, statistics, research methods, general and abnormal psychology). Teaching load will be four courses per semester.  The position also involves the advising of majors and some committee work on the traditional undergraduate campus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • Possess an addiction’s counseling clinical license (LCAC) or be license eligible

  • Graduate training in Addictions or a closely related field with an emphasis in Addictions

  • Strong candidates will have experience providing and supervising addictions counseling and integrated treatment for dually-diagnosed clients
